Circular Feedstocks Business Development:

Braskem has bold 2030 targets when it comes to combating climate change and the elimination of plastic waste. One of the ways to contribute to those targets is through replacing fossil feedstock with sustainable feedstock in our assets, globally.

The Circular Feedstocks Business Development position is responsible for the development of new alternative feedstock sources that support Braskems sustainability and circularity roadmap. Though the position is based in the Netherlands, it covers both the local European and the global trading landscape, under Braskem Trading & Shipping structure.

One of the key responsibilities of this position is to establish long term relationships with players in the sustainable feedstock market, such as suppliers, project developers and market associations, translating market trends to the internal Braskem audience and converting these trends into business.
To achieve that, the position needs to partner with with several internal stakeholders that can catalyze the initiatives, such as Innovation & Technology, External Affairs, Sustainable Development and Corporate Strategy.

Other responsibilities include carrying out the Braskem Trading & Shipping sustainable feedstock strategy, in alignment with the Circular Economy areas, and performing competitive analysis of different circular, bio and renewable raw materials.

Finally, the position will also work close to Braskem’s Carbon Desk to explore synergies between the company’s carbon exposure and the alternative feedstock developments. 

 

Purpose of Position:

Develop new alternative feedstock sources that support Braskems growth avenues.

Establish long term relationships with players on the sustainable feedstock market, such as suppliers, project developers and market associations.

Translate market trends to the internal Braskem audience and convert these trends into business.

Key Accountabilities:

Ensure:

  • Development of long-term, sustainable and competitive feedstock supply for Braskem assets, globally
  • Alignment of the sustainable feedstock strategy with Braskems strategic pillars
  • Alignment of the sustainable feedstock strategy with other feedstock areas and Circular Economy teams
  • Synergy with other Braskem businesses and joint-ventures
  • Carry out:

  • Braskem long term Sustainable Feedstock Strategy 
  • Relationship management with key feedstock partners in the supply chain
  • Competitive analysis of different suppliers and product origins
  • Sustainable sourcing initiatives throughout the supply chain
  • Contribute:

  • Support Braskems Marco Objectives related to sustainable feedstock and carbon reduction
  • Support advocacy positioning on sustainable feedstock
  • Support the commercial development of I&T initiatives
  • Support Braskem Budgeting process. 
  • Technical / Management Knowledge 

  • Knowledge of the Oil, Gas and Petrochemical market, supply/demand and product applications
  • Knowledge of the circular and biofeedstock and products markets/technologies
  • Holistic view of the bio and circular supply chain in the chemical industry
  • Good communication skills 
  • Project management skills
  • Act like a product or business owner (a.k.a. entrepreneurship)
  • English and Portuguese language required
