We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our team based in Amsterdam.
As Senior Product Designer you are accountable for the research, ideation, design, and prototyping of the customer experience for your respective domain area (product) and continuous collaboration with PO, engineers, and key stakeholders to identify areas of opportunity, break them down into solvable problems, and craft elegant solutions.
What you’ll do
Product & Customer Centricity
Orient on our actual customers and the value the product/domain area brings to them
Be a true customer advocate. Represent a customer when it comes to every design solution.
Translate and evangelize that UX is as important to customer value as an underlying functionality
Have a solid understanding that the product is on the service of the business and incorporate those constraints into the design
Know Business – seek knowledge and understanding of details and dependencies beyond the front-end of brand.com that do affect the Customer Journey
Ensure stakeholder’s happiness by evening user needs and business objectives
Rather than being measured on the output of the design work, the product designer is measured on the success of their product.
Ensure that every feature has clearly defined design KPIs and an established baseline.
Own all aspects of design with strong expertise in UX, Interaction, and Visual design
Utilize a combination of design disciplines to create a smooth, holistic experience
Introduce and promote design thinking as a framework for the entire product team
Work at a high pace. Be flexible with what tools, methodologies, and processes are being used depending on the context and dependencies.
Build and sustain solid partnership with PO
Get included from the very inception of every idea to delivery
Contribute to overall strategy and decision-making about product direction
Be instrumental in defining priorities and building the product roadmap
Be a proactive trigger and an agent of change when it comes to the future of the product
Continuously collaborate with engineers
Work closely with engineers to ensure a high-quality implementation
Have an awareness of the technical limitations and liberties behind design decisions and be able to communicate those in an effective and inspiring way
Have a system architecture understanding of the product
Engage and involve Stake-Holders from the beginning (research, strategy, concept) to the end (design and implementation)
Discovery & User Testing
Conduct data analysis, market, and user research to identify best practices and shape hypotheses on how best to address product requirements
Actively validate assumptions through qualitative or quantitative research
Effectively communicate research findings, conceptual ideas and design rationale with the product team and stakeholders
Have a solid understanding of e-commerce metrics. Develop a clear set of success KPIs and ensure analytics tracking and/or AB testing prior to and after deployment
Ensure that testing is built in the weekly cadence to validate and refine ideas
Constantly test ideas with real users and customers
Holistic Customer Experience
Own and work with Activities (journey level), not Tasks (single-interaction level)
Research, design, communicate and measure user flows as the cumulative impression that customer has with our product & company over time
Think in terms of the design system and making rational decisions that improve the consistency of the customer journey, through all touchpoints
UX Design
Utilise data and the practical appliance of user tests to make complex design decisions
Collaborate and improve the process of communication with BA
Use multiple analytical statements to provide a data-driven rationale
Seek out and identify imprecise metrics and analytical inconsistencies
Understand the customer’s critical agenda
Take responsibility for aligning the planned feature list with user needs
Contribute to building and maintaining Customer Experience Map
Help integrate customer needs with product, business, and organization directions
Analyse and continuously improve information architecture (navigation model, information organization, and relationship)
Have a solid understanding of Content Strategy
Have a solid understanding of content creation and delivery processes
Translate design principles into high-quality content representation (ux copy, product imagery, and descriptions)
Collaborate with Brands, editorial, copywriting, and product enrichment teams and advocate for consistent use of content guidelines
Interaction / Visual Design
Create aesthetically pleasing visual mock-ups based on a solid understanding of composition, visual hierarchy, and color theory as it relates to layout
Enhance copy & information design utilizing extensive knowledge of typography
Articulate and interpret the aspects of user behavior and motivation to build intuitive and natural models of interaction
Be aware of the full range of Bestseller Brands Identities, their specifics, visual influence, and limitations to ensure the best visual representation
People Management
Create a supportive work environment in which employees are coached, trained, and provided with career opportunities through development.
Continuously monitor and evaluate team workload and organizational efficiency with the support of data and team feedback and make appropriate changes in order to meet business needs.
Provide team members/direct reports with clear direction and targets aligned with business needs and objectives.
What we’re looking for
University degree in the field of Business or equivalent
5+ years of experience in the area of expertise or front-end design, e.g. as a functional expert
Experience in digital and/ or eCommerce environment
A strong portfolio that demonstrates your attention to detail and problem-solving.
Valid experience in growing high-volume businesses and achieving bottom-line results in a commercial world.
Very good communication skills, comfortable presenting complex topics to stakeholders at various organizational levels both in person and remotely
Consistency across designs while maintaining a creative approach
Creative and energetic team player who has a passion for user-centered design
People management skills are a big plus
Comfortable working with enterprise-level platforms and technologies
Experience in product management and working in an agile/SCRUM mode
Knowledge about reporting tools, KPI creation, and extracting insights from complex dashboards
Experience in working with Figma
Experience in working and building Scalable Design Systems
Experience in working in Prototyping software
Deep understanding of the web environment, GUI (screen layouts and composition)
Good knowledge of HTML & CSS
