Director Procurement NPR
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director Procurement NPR to lead the global NPR procurement team and contribute to the overall success of Marel.
What you will be doing:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of NPR Procurement to lead and optimize our non-product related procurement activities across the organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and executing strategic procurement initiatives, leading a team of highly motivated global category managers, strategic purchasers and purchasing support specialists, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring best in class procurement practices. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of procurement processes and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Procurement Leadership
Develop and implement a global NPR procurement strategy aligned with Marel’s overall business objectives.
Identify and assess procurement opportunities to drive value, cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Challenge status quo and have an entrepreneurial mindset.
Act as a business partner connecting to business stakeholders and ensure internal customer satisfaction.
Lead cross-functional teams to develop and execute category strategies for NPR spend categories, including but not limited to IT, HR, marketing, MRO/Capex, Facility Management, travel, and professional services.
Supplier Management:
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve optimal outcomes for Marel.
Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular reviews to ensure compliance with contractual agreements and service level expectations.
Drive Marel sustainability agenda with suppliers
Process Improvement:
Continuously challenge, evaluate, and improve NPR procurement processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Develop digital roadmap for NPR in collaboration with relevant functions.
Implement best practices in procurement, including strategic sourcing, e-procurement tools, and supplier relationship management.
Ensure compliance with corporate procurement policies and procedures.
Team Leadership:
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing procurement team.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and innovation within the procurement function.

What kind of a person are you?
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Proven track record of developing and executing successful procurement strategies, engaging teams and stakeholders.
Strong negotiation, communication, influencing and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build own network and work effectively in a global, matrixed organization.
Cultural awareness and change management skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Proficiency in procurement software and tools
Experience in the food processing or manufacturing industry and a multinational company is a plus.
